Anyone who knows me knows that I have an irrational fondness for denim. It started here - when in 2016, on an assignment for an in-flight magazine and working on a story about textile manufacturing in North Carolina, I was given thirty minutes on the factory floor of Cone Mills White Oak facility in Greensboro. I left the facility wanting to wear clothes that these people helped to make. The facility shut down in 2017 as Cone Mills, a major supplier for Levi's, moved the rest of their denim manufacturing offshore to their Mexico and China facilities. I am grateful for the time that these workers gave me in the midst of keeping the hundreds of looms on the factory floor running smoothly.
